Jozefien Van der Aelst is a Belgian director and screenwriter born in 1996. Working between Berlin and Antwerp, she explores the relationship between humans and nature in her hybrid works, addressing themes such as emergence, spatial narrative, cartography, landscape, catastrophe, and ecology.

Biography
Holding a Master's degree in Philosophy and a Bachelor's degree in Theatre, Film, and Literary Studies, Jozefien Van der Aelst continued her training in filmmaking at the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin (DFFB). Her docu-fiction films create hybrid worlds often on the verge of collapse, examining the interaction between humans and nature.
