Freestyle to Montenegro

In 1987, Tonin Gjini swam to Yugoslavia to flee Enver Hoxha’s Communist regime. He did not return home until 30 years later. This documentary tells the story of this uncommon Albanian swimmer.

“I would like viewers to feel the impact this exploit had, not only on Ginji, but also on those who remained behind in Albania, whose past still remains contested today.” Ardit Sadiku, exit.al
