Lisa Carlehed is a Swedish actress born in Gothenburg in 1979. Daughter of an actor, she developed a passion for theater early on. Trained at the Method Acting Studio in London and holding a Bachelor’s degree from GITIS Scandinavia in Denmark, she began her film career in 2000. Notable performances include “In Your Arms“, “Psychosia“, and “The Emigrants“, where she portrayed Kristina, earning a Guldbagge Award nomination. In 2024, she starred as Sally Bauer in “The Swedish Torpedo“, solidifying her status among prominent Scandinavian actresses.

Born on July 15, 1979, in Gothenburg, Sweden, Lisa Carlehed grew up in an artistic environment, her father being an actor. She pursued her passion for acting by studying at the Method Acting Studio in London in 1999 and later obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Acting Art from GITIS Scandinavia in Århus, Denmark, in 2004
Her film debut was in 2000 with “Bad Actors“. She gained recognition through roles in Scandinavian and international productions, showcasing her ability to portray complex characters. Significant roles include “In Your Arms” (2015), “Psychosia” (2019), and “The Emigrants” (2021), where she played Kristina, a mother emigrating to America in the 19th century, earning a Guldbagge Award nomination
In 2024, she played Carla in “The Swedish Torpedo“, a biopic about Sally Bauer, the first Scandinavian woman to swim the English Channel, a performance that was critically acclaimed and earned her a Guldbagge Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
Lisa Carlehed is also active on stage and works as a translator, demonstrating her artistic versatility.
