Or, les murs

by Julien Sallé

(Documentary, France, 2009, 58’, C, OV) with Thierry Machuel, Régis S., Dominique A., Franck P., Eric, Ilich R.S. and with participation of Brigitte Sy

Or, les murs

During the year 2008, the composer Thierry Machuel pys regular visits to the penitentiary center of Clairvaux, where he conducts writing workshops with voluntary prisoners. Later, these texts will be used as a libretto for his next composition. As the words of the inmates emerge, his music takes shape and we discover the place of Clairvaux, where over the centuries the immutable mark of confinement has been imprinted on the material, the bodies, the beings. And at the heart of all this, we see the men who live, who create, who experience.
