Holding a PhD in Media Studies from the University of Oslo and a degree from the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm, she directed documentaries for NRK for a decade before turning to the film essay. Her work, awarded the Ivan Juritz Prize for Creative Experiment, has been presented internationally at venues such as Vienna Shorts, LIAF, the Seattle Art Museum, and Grimstad.
